Financial Education Opportunities
ColoradoSaves is locally administered by the Centers for Financial Education in Denver, a division of Money Management International and its Consumer Credit Counseling Service agencies. The Center offers monthly classes in personal money management, credit and homebuyer education. Upon request, community educators offer training in a variety of settings to various groups. Specific workshops include:

Credit Smarts- this two hour course provides an excellent overview of credit, your rights and responsibilities as the consumer, how to build, repair and manage credit wisely.

Understanding Money Management- this two hour course that outlines the importance of a financial plan and managing spending behavior.

Solutions to Financial Freedom- this two hour course provides an overview of both Credit Smarts and Understanding Money Management and is an Executive Office of the United States Treasury approved debtor education course designed for consumers that are filing bankruptcy.

First-time Home Buyer – this five hour course provides consumers with information to help them successfully purchase a home. Upon completing the course, attendees receive a certificate where they may receive a loan from the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
